Pointe making warming shelter available

From staff reports

An Oil City agency will make shelter available over the next several days of frigid weather for individuals and families who need a warm place to go.

The warming center, operated by The Pointe agency, will be open from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. during periods of 20 degree temperature or less, with or without wind chill.

The center, open free of charge, is located at 259 Seneca St. The location is the former site of Northwest Savings Bank.

The Pointe also operates a drop-in center for persons 18 and older from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The drop-in center is located next to the warming center.

The warming center is open to people without permanent homes or without heat in their homes. Pets are not permitted.
