The PennWest-Clarion Small Business Development Center has been named the Western Pennsylvania Center of the Year for 2024 by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
PennWest-Clarion SBDC director Cindy Nellis and her six-member team were honored during a ceremony marking the annual celebration of National Small Business Week.
Small Business Development Centers are SBA- and state-funded entities that help entrepreneurs with no-cost counseling and low-cost training classes for every phase of small business development.
In addition to general business consulting, the PennWest-Clarion SBDC continues to be an integral member of the state’s SBDC Agriculture Center of Excellence that provides dedicated consulting services to agriculture producers and processors in the state.
While Nellis said the award is an honor, watching their small start-ups thrive is the team’s greatest reward, she added.
