A project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than a mile of Route 666 in Howe Township, Forest County, is scheduled to begin soon.
Construction is expected to start Aug. 26, weather permitting, and be completed in October.
The project will include paving 1.89 miles of roadway from Blue Jay Creek Road (Route 1003) to the Warren County line, as well as roadway widening, tree trimming, drainage updates, pavement markings and new guide rails.
Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers and should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions.
Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.
The contractor is IA Construction Corp. of Franklin.
The contract cost is $977,777.77, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
