Franklin Fine Arts Council has begun a new summer feature called Movies in the Park that offers outdoor viewings of family-oriented films in Franklin and Cooperstown throughout the summer months.
To kick off the series, “Sonic the Hedgehog” was shown Tuesday at Bandstand Park in Franklin and “Sing” was shown Thursday at Cooperstown Community Park.
The film series is being offered free of charge, thanks to grant money from the Miese Foundation and Bridge Builders Community Foundations.
– “The Lion King” on June 29 in Franklin
– “How to Train Your Dragon” on July 8 in Cooperstown
– “How to Train Your Dragon 2” on July 13 in Franklin
– “The Sandlot” on July 22 in Cooperstown
– “A Dog’s Way Home” on July 27 in Franklin
– “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” on Aug. 5 in Cooperstown
– “Footloose” on Aug. 19 in Cooperstown
The movies will start at dusk.
Those who attend the film viewings should provide their own seating and snacks. No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
