The Oil City School District has announced its orientation and registration dates. Kindergarten orientations will be held at Hasson Heights Elementary on August 20 and Smedley Street Elementary on August 21, both from 6 to 7 p.m. Open houses for first through fourth grades are scheduled for August 21 at Smedley Street (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.) and Seventh Street Elementary (6 to 7:30 p.m.), and on August 28 at Hasson Heights (6 to 7:30 p.m.). Middle school orientation and open house for fifth-grade and new students will be on August 22 at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium, followed by an open house at 6:30 p.m. High school orientation and open house for freshmen and new students will also be on August 22, starting at 5 p.m. in the auditorium, with the open house beginning at 5:30 p.m. Registration requires parents or guardians to accompany students and bring necessary documents. The first day of classes is August 27.
