ORAS to mark 30 years with Astroblast

The Oil Region Astronomical Society (ORAS) is hosting its 30th annual Astroblast event from Tuesday through Sunday in the first week of October. This event invites space enthusiasts and amateur astronomers to observe the night sky and participate in various activities, such as workshops on space photography, deep sky sketching, lectures, and constellation tours. Participants don’t need to bring their own telescopes, as ORAS will provide access to equipment. Astroblast, which began in 1994 at Two Mile Run County Park, is now held at ORAS’s new location in Cranberry Township. ORAS board member Tim Spuck emphasizes that the event is open to anyone with a passion for space, regardless of experience level.
