Venango Technology Center will host a Career & Technical Education open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The event is open to current technology center students as well as students in seventh, eighth and ninth grades and their families who may be interested in attending the school.
Sending schools to the technology center include Rocky Grove, Franklin, Titusville, Oil City, Cranberry, East Forest and West Forest.
Visitors will receive specific program information enabling them to make informed decisions for their futures.
The following areas will be available for visitation: Allied Health Occupations, Automotive Technology, Auto Body Repair Technology, Building Construction Technology, Computer Aided Drafting & Design, Computer Information Systems, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Electronics Technology, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Machine Tool Technology, Gas & Oil Technician, Protective Services, Natural Resources, and Welding Technology.
There will also be representatives on hand from local industries and post-high school institutions, such as “Be Here,” Clarion University, Laurel Technical Institute, Liberty Electronics, Precision Manufacturing Institute, University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, Citizens Bank and the technology center’s adult education and practical nursing programs.
Attendees will be able to vote in a pumpkin carving competition organized by the National Technical Honor Society and Student Senate.
Students and open house guests will vote though monetary donation. The shop-carved pumpkin that raises the most donations will be declared the winner. Donations will benefit the Student Senate holiday charity drive.
Culinary arts students at the center will prepare a variety of baked goods for attendees to purchase.
