From staff reports
The Oil City Arts Council and ARTS Oil City are once again teaming up to organize the annual Oil Heritage Festival art show.
The show, which is scheduled July 19-23 in downtown Oil City during the Oil Heritage Festival, is one of the largest exhibitions in the region and attracted more than 250 pieces of original artwork from 101 artists last year.
The show features divisions for adults 18 and over (both professional and amateur), young adults ages 13 to 17, and children 12 and under.
The show will be professionally judged with first, second and third prize ribbons awarded within each category and division, as well as honorable mentions, people’s choice and best in show.
No entry fee or pre-registration are required to participate in the show. Participants may enter up to three works across any category.
Artwork must be delivered to and registered at the 2023 drop-off location at the Great Room in the National Transit Building on Sunday, July 9, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. No entries will be accepted after 7 p.m. July 9.
Participating artists are encouraged to attend an opening reception on Wednesday, July 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., held simultaneously at all three locations.
The show will continue on Thursday, July 20, from noon to 4 p.m.; Friday, July 21, and Saturday, July 22, from noon to 6 p.m.; and Sunday July 23, from noon to 4 p.m.
The opening reception and all show hours are free and open to the public.
