The attempted abduction of a young girl in Oil City that was reported Thursday has been now ruled a false alarm, according to a Monday press release from Oil City police.
Police said that during their investigation of the incident, officers were able to view video footage that showed the girl’s entire walk, from when she left her house to when she arrived at school.
Police said that after viewing numerous videos from different angles and locations, they were able to determine that the child’s safety was never endangered on her route.
In the release, Oil City police thanked members of the community for their assistance in investigating the report to ensure the safety of the city’s children.
