Oil City milling work underway

Milling work started Monday in Oil City, and work continued Tuesday on several streets, including Reed Street from Front Street to West First Street. The milling is expected to wrap up today.

Oil City has started its 2024 street paving program, beginning with milling on several streets, including Lincoln, Reed, West Fourth, West Front, and Smedley. The work on Smedley was timed to avoid disrupting the school day. Milling is set to finish today on Euclid Avenue and East Sixth Street. The city’s public works director, Chris Gorman, mentioned that curb work is already complete. The paving contract, awarded to Shields Asphalt Paving Inc. for $406,593, includes sidewalks, milling, and paving.
