Oil City men facing charges in meth case

From staff reports

Charges have been filed against two Oil City men for conspiring with another Oil City man who has already been charged in the case to purchase and deliver a pound of crystal methamphetamine to the Venango County area.

Franklin state police said James Lee Kopf, 48; Jeffrey S. Feely Jr., 35; and Michael J. Poch, 42; are accused of taking a rental car to Philadelphia and purchasing the crystal meth on Jan. 2.

Police said the three suspects are believed to have deposited funds into a known conspirator’s bank account for the purpose of purchasing the drugs.

The methamphetamine was shipped by overnight mail to several addresses in Oil City, police said.

Feely was taken into custody Jan. 3 while in possession of about 10 ounces of crystal meth, police said. Kopf and Poch have now been charged.

Feely is being held without bail in the Venango County jail. He has already moved through Central Court and is facing charges in the Court of Common Pleas of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kopf has been charged with two felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, one felony count of corrupt organizations, one felony count of conspiracy to violate the controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Poch is held in the Venango County jail awaiting a preliminary hearing today on felony charges of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit the same, misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy, and a summary charge of driving without a license.
