A man and a woman are each facing charges of possessing and distributing methamphetamine in the Venango County area.
On Thursday at about 6:30 a.m., Sugarcreek police, agents of the state Attorney General’s Office and other law enforcement personnel executed a search warrant for a residence in the 1000 block of West First Street stemming from an investigation into the sale, delivery, distribution and possession of drugs with the intent to deliver them by Robert Haney, 48, and Thresea Haney, 47, as well as other people, known and unknown, the Attorney General’s Office said in a criminal complaint.
Robert and Thresea Haney were found to be in possession of methamphetamine as well as 13 firearms, both pistols and rifles, the complaint said.
While searching the house, police found a juvenile male and eight 1-ounce packages of methamphetamine, cash and a small amount of marijuana in the area where he was found, the complaint said.
The complaint notes “Robert and Thresea Haney along with a known juvenile did conspire to possess and sell large amounts of Crystal Meth in and around the Venango County Area.”
Robert Haney is also facing a felony count of conspiracy- possession of firearm prohibited and a misdemeanor count of conspiracy- possession of a controlled substance.
Thresea Haney is facing an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Thresea and Robert Haney were arraigned on Thursday before District Judge Patrick Lowrey and placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail.
Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday before Lowrey.
