Oil City High School singers tour the town to spread some Christmas cheer

Members of Oil City High School’s A Capella Choir perform Christmas carols at Hasson Heights Elementary School as part of their annual elementary school tours.

The Oil City Music Department’s vocal groups brought festive cheer on Friday with performances at Hasson, Seventh Street, and Smedley elementary schools, where students sang along to carols, and one student received a special birthday serenade. Choir director Steve Luxbacher celebrated his 25th year leading the tour, which ended with a performance for the Belle Lettres Club. The annual high school Christmas concert will take place on Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m., with admission being a canned good or non-perishable item to support school food pantries and community services.
