From staff reports
Oil City will host two separate recycling programs for electronics and tires in August.
The e-waste event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at the city garage on Regan Drive in Siverly.
Desktop computers, televisions, laptops, monitors, printers, keyboards, computer components, microwaves, radios and VCR/DVD players will all be accepted for disposal.
Air conditioners will not be accepted.
At the time of drop-off, residents must have proof of residency.
There will be no commercial drop-off permitted as it is only open to residential customers.
A tire recycling program will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, also at the city garage.
Only non-commercial, rimless tires will be accepted.
There is a limit of eight tires per residential customer and proof of residency will also be required.
A fee of $2 will be assessed per tire after the initial eight. The only payment form that will be accepted is cash.
Dumpsters will be made available for yard clutter, which involves items that the refuse provider does not take at curb side, such as scrap metals and construction materials.
No household hazardous chemicals, such as motor oil, paint, batteries and fluorescent light bulbs, will be accepted.
Anyone with questions about either event can contact the utility office at (814) 678-3002.
