From staff reports
In what has been a less than cheerful year, a trio of Oil City organizations want to bring some of that merriment back at year’s end with a decorating contest.
“It’s a way of spreading cheer,” said Kathy Bailey, manager of the Oil City Main Street Program, which is collaborating with Gates & Burns Realty and the city’s Take Pride group to sponsor a Home for the Holidays house decorating contest.
A key provision is the decorations must be able to be seen from the street.
The winner will be based on the best curb appeal for the outdoor decorations.
The deadline to enter is Tuesday, and the winner will be announced on New Year’s Eve.
Entries may be submitted to the Gates & Burns office at 8 E. First St.
