An Oil City man who had been reported missing in November 2017 was found dead Monday.
John Stegall, 64, was reported missing Nov. 27, 2017, after having last been seen at his home at 228 Plummer St.
At the time of his disappearance, it was believed Stegall left his home on foot and traveled in an unknown direction.
Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh said Tuesday she has ruled Stegall’s death an apparent suicide that “probably” took place around the time of his disappearance.
Rugh did not say where Stegall’s body was found, and Oil City police Chief Dave Ragon couldn’t be reached for comment.
