OC man held for court on several drug charges

An Oil City man accused of selling drugs to a confidential informant in Franklin was held for court Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.

Devonte Trey Riedel, 26, will now face further court proceedings on three felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility, four felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, four misdemeanor counts each of possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of children-parent/guardian/other commits offense.

A criminal complaint filed by Franklin police said Riedel supplied drugs to a confidential informant in several controlled drug buys between December and February. The exchanges took place at various locations in Franklin and were supervised by Franklin police and agents with the Attorney General’s office, the complaint said.

Riedel was taken into custody during a March 5 raid on his residence at 602 West First St. in Oil City.

The complaint said the raid yielded two grams of crack cocaine, $670 in U.S. currency, three digital scales and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Riedel remains lodged in the Venango County jail unable to post $15,000 bail.
