OC man facing aggravated assault, restraint charges

An Oil City man, Marcus Scurry, 35, faces charges after attacking a woman early Sunday. According to a criminal complaint, police responded around 2:15 a.m. to a fight between Scurry and the woman at Innis and North streets, where Scurry threw her to the ground, held her down, punched her in the face, and strangled her from behind. He also damaged her rental vehicle by punching out the rear driver’s side window and cracking the windshield. Scurry is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, strangulation, simple assault, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned and jailed, unable to post bail, with a preliminary hearing set for August 14 in Central Court.
