An Oil City man is facing multiple felony charges in connection with a December heroin overdose.

In a press release issued Wednesday, Oil City police said 33-year-old Timothy Stahlman Jr. was taken into custody Tuesday following a joint investigation with the Franklin Police Department.

A woman overdosed on heroin at Stahlman’s home in the 400 block of Colbert Avenue on Dec. 28, and further investigation revealed Stahlman and a co-conspirator were bringing in large amounts of heroin to the Venango County area from Pittsburgh, police said.

The heroin was then being distributed to others for sale/use, police said.

Stahlman has been charged with felony counts of criminal conspiracy and delivery of a controlled substance and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned before district judge Andrew Fish and placed in the Venango County jail on $25,000 straight bail.

A preliminary hearing in the case has been tentatively scheduled for Wednesday in Central Court.

The investigation into Stahlman’s alleged co-conspirator is ongoing, police said.
