Brayden Buzard, an Oil City High School junior, has been awarded the annual Cole McMahon “Heart of Gold” Memorial Award, which honors a student who exemplifies the dedication and work ethic of McMahon, a 2001 graduate who passed away in 2006. Selected by McMahon’s family with input from school staff, Buzard will receive a free one-year YMCA membership and have his name added to the award plaque at the YMCA. The YMCA also maintains a scholarship fund in McMahon’s memory to support youth and adult programs, with donations welcomed from the community.
