Numerous weather-related crashes, and even some abandoned vehicles, were reported by both Venango and Clarion County 911 dispatchers Thursday afternoon.
A Venango County 911 dispatcher rattled off several calls, with the first coming in at 10:20 a.m. along Richey Run in Emlenton. A vehicle was found at the side of the road and Emlenton police cleared the scene 20 minutes later, the dispatcher said.
Another vehicle was found at the intersection of Halyday Road and Main Street in Oil City at 11:26 a.m., and Oil City police assisted at the scene, the dispatcher said.
The dispatcher said a three-vehicle accident at 1:02 p.m. on Route 257 at the bottom of Seneca Hill resulted in two injuries. Seneca and Oil City firefighters, Community Ambulance Service and Oil City police were at the scene.
A vehicle collided with a tree on Route 427 in Sugarcreek Borough at 3:20 p.m., but there were no injuries, the dispatcher said. Sugarcreek police and Rocky Grove and Reno firefighters assisted at the scene.
The dispatcher reported another accident at Battles Road in Utica but didn’t have a full report available. Franklin state police, Utica firefighters and Utica Ambulance assisted at the scene.
Clarion County also had its fair share of accidents to report on Thursday.
A Clarion County 911 dispatcher said a single-vehicle crash occurred at 11:44 a.m. at mile marker 70 of Interstate 80 in Clarion Township. The dispatcher couldn’t confirm whether there were any injuries.
Clarion state police, Strattanville firefighters and Clarion Hospital Ambulance personnel were at the scene.
The dispatcher said there was another two-vehicle accident at 11:50 a.m. on Waterson Road in Clarion Township. Clarion state police, Clarion firefighters and Clarion Hospital Ambulance were at the scene.
Clarion state police, Shippenville Ambulance and Farmington firefighters were at the scene. The dispatcher didn’t know if there were any injuries.
