November is coming, and that means more deer are on the move. November is the most dangerous month in Pennsylvania for deer-car accidents, according to a press release from the Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority.
Pennsylvania had the second highest rate of deer-car accidents in the U.S. last year, according to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. Most of those accidents occur in the autumn and early winter, with the highest chances for an encounter between a deer and a driver between 6 and 9 p.m.
Drivers are encouraged to pay attention to deer crossing signs, use high beams and drive slower to help decrease the number of deer-car collisions, especially at dawn and dusk when deer are most active.
