Nifty at 90: Well-traveled grandmother also known for her wedding cakes

Shirley Heath, born Jan. 25, 1935, grew up on her family’s farm in Clarion County and built a life centered around family, community, and service. She married Bill Heath in 1953, spending time in Germany during his military service before returning home to raise their four children. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she has cherished family gatherings and adventures, including travels to Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe. Active in Salem Lutheran Church, the Knox Senior Center, and the Red Hat Society, she also spent decades volunteering, working in education, and making over 300 wedding cakes. Shirley recently celebrated her 90th birthday, surrounded by loved ones who admire her lifelong dedication and warmth.
