Paul “Popeye” Glass, a lifelong resident of Venus, was born on July 15, 1934, as the eighth of 14 children. He attended a one-room schoolhouse until eighth grade and worked various jobs, including at sawmills and as a log truck driver. He met his wife, Mary Oakes, in 1953, and they were married for 60 years until her passing in 2017. They have six children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul enjoyed sled riding, hunting, gardening, and playing guitar. Currently, he spends time tinkering with his tractor and playing his favorite game, Carrom. An open house in his honor will be held on Saturday at the Fertigs Church of God of Prophecy in Venus, PA. Cards can be sent to his residence.
