The article celebrates Janet Wice of Oil City, who was born on August 23, 1934, in Wild Cat Hollow and is turning 90 years old. Raised in Kaneville, she married Tom Wice in 1950, and together they had four children. Janet is known for her baking, especially wedding cakes and apple pies, as well as her skill in knitting and crocheting. After raising her family, Janet and her husband traveled extensively until his passing in 2013. She later reconnected with an old friend, Nelson Best, and the two have been inseparable ever since. At 90, Janet remains active, driving, playing bingo, and hosting large family gatherings during the holidays. An open house in her honor will be held on August 25 at Hasson Park from 1-4 PM at the large pavillion.
