Nifty at 90: Franklin man known for work ethic, love of sports

William L. “Bud” Flickner of Franklin celebrates his 90th birthday today. Born in 1934, Bud has had a life filled with family, hard work, and service. A Rocky Grove High graduate and Army paratrooper, he worked various jobs before a 30-year Post Office career, including roles as Postmaster in multiple locations. After retiring in 1990, he ran a tavern, worked at Pepro, and now helps at Speer’s golf course. Bud enjoys sports, family gatherings, genealogy, and staying active with daily treadmill walks. He remains a cherished figure in his family and community.
