Newcomer to join 3 local incumbents in state legislature

Three long-serving Republican lawmakers from the Pennsylvania Legislature were reelected on Tuesday, and a new GOP member from Clarion County will join them in Harrisburg. In the state Senate, Scott Hutchinson, representing the 21st District, was reelected unopposed for a fourth term, covering several counties including Venango and Clarion. In the state House, incumbents R. Lee James (64th District) and Kathy Rapp (65th District) defeated their challengers to retain their seats. Additionally, newcomer Josh Bashline won the 63rd District seat, succeeding Donna Oberlander, who did not seek reelection. Bashline defeated Democrat Pat Ritchie with 26,887 votes to Ritchie’s 6,703. James secured 25,315 votes against Constitution Party candidate Ron Johnson, and Rapp won her race with 20,915 votes over Democrat Erin Willman.
