The Oil City Arts Council continues its summer music series with the Pipeline Alley Concerts at noon Wednesdays from June until the end of August.
Admission is free.
Listeners may take their lunch and enjoy the outdoor performance in the Victorian garden located between the National Transit and the Annex building on Seneca Street, Oil City.
The yearlong three separate concert series are managed by Daniel Feroz and sponsored by the arts council.
Nelson Porter will play Wednesday. Porter began performing professionally at age 17. He has played extensively throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York and Ohio. Porter is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in bass guitar. He also plays six-string guitar, trumpet and keyboard. He is an accomplished vocalist and solo-performer. Porter works with three well-known local bands, Lawyers, Guns and Money, Route 8 Band and the Porter-Huber Jazz Combo.
Porter sings and writes both secular and faith-based music. He has written over 160 songs of Christian faith. Some of these songs have been recorded locally. He appears at many functions throughout the area mostly at many churches. He is very active in the Grace Church in Rocky Grove.
The next Pipeline Alley performer will be Sunny James at noon Wednesday, June 21.
Prior to that, there is a larger summer concert Friday in Justus Park with Hannah, Williamson and Shick. Admission is free to both.
The Jolly July 3rd concerts will feature Mostly Brass and Trixx at the same park in downtown Oil City.
