National Fuel adjusts gas supply charges

National Fuel Gas Distribution Corp. (NFG) has submitted an annual adjustment to gas supply charges, effective today, which will increase the monthly bill for a typical residential customer using 99,300 cubic feet of gas by $7.40, from $64.72 to $72.12. This increase is due to higher market prices for natural gas. Despite this rise, the adjustment is lower than the $87.98 projected in December. State utility companies can update gas supply charges quarterly to reflect market changes, with the next adjustment on Nov. 1. NFG also introduced a Customer Assistance Program (CAP) for low-income customers, offering affordable payments and balance forgiveness. Customers can apply for CAP through Dollar Energy Fund or seek more information by calling NFG.
