On Wednesday, May 12, many Cranberry High School students and teachers participated in an event known as Move it Outside day. Move it Outside day is a national event in which educators are encouraged to take their students outside to raise awareness about the importance of outdoor education.
Instead of sitting in a classroom all day, a number of faculty led their students outside to enjoy the fresh air while participating in traditional classroom activities or just relaxing. Some of these activities included frisbee golf, whiffle ball, kickball, walking the track, cornhole, hitting a volleyball around, and short football games.
Rylee Coe, a Cranberry freshman, said, “Move it Outside is fun because it gave me a break from school and got me to do something fun like whiffle ball.”
“Move it Outside day is a great way to get the school community bussin’,” stated Emerson Culver, a ninth-grader at the school.
Based on the positive opinions on Move It Outside day, students and teachers alike can expect this outdoor excursion to continue for years to come.
