Motorcyclist accused of leading police on chase

Everett Charles Hoobler, a 31-year-old man from Franklin, is facing multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed chase on Route 322 in Cranberry Township. State police spotted Hoobler speeding on a black motorcycle and pursued him, reaching speeds of 120 mph. Hoobler passed vehicles in a no-passing zone and ignored police signals before fleeing onto a bike trail, where the pursuit ended. The next day, police found the abandoned motorcycle, which had a stolen registration. Hoobler was identified through surveillance footage from Walmart, where he made purchases using a debit card registered to him. He is charged with felony counts of fleeing police and receiving stolen property, among other offenses, and is being held without bail as a flight risk. His preliminary hearing is set for October 16.
