From staff reports
The body of a missing 34-year-old Knox woman was found Thursday morning.
Clarion County coroner Terry Shaffer said Misty Dawn Cain’s body was found before 10 a.m. Thursday by Clarion state police behind a Rhea Lumber Co. storage building near an old railroad track.
“She had been missing since Monday, so police were getting pretty concerned,” said Shaffer.
State police began canvassing the area Thursday morning and found Cain shortly after the search began.
State police trooper Rod Hotchkiss said Cain had last been seen at about 10 p.m. Monday in the area of Mendenhall Avenue in Knox.
Both Shaffer and state police said an initial investigation didn’t reveal any suspicious circumstances.
Authorities said the cause of death was unclear Thursday and that the investigation is continuing.
Shaffer said an autopsy will be performed today in Erie.
