From staff reports
The Jefferson County Historical Society will hold its annual military collectibles show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Brookville.
The indoor event includes two buildings with 100 vendors and exhibitors displaying a wide range of collectibles and related items ranging from the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Vietnam and Gulf wars to the present.
Collectibles available for show, sale and trade include weapons, uniforms, artifacts, accouterments, photographs, publications and other items of historical interest to both the beginner and advanced military collector.
Experts will be on hand to evaluate items.
The raffle prize this year is a replica of the 105th Pennsylvania Civil War Regiment’s “Wildcat” monument located at Gettysburg. This is a casting of the sculpture, authentic to the original monument, by Gettysburg artist Gary Casteel.
Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.
The tickets may be purchased in advance at the History Center in Brookville or at the show. The tickets also will be available soon on the Jefferson County Historical Society website.
The fairgrounds are located on Route 28 north of Exit 81 of Interstate 80. Adult admission is $10 and children 17 and under are admitted free.
