A tragic murder-suicide occurred Sunday evening in Mercer County, where a father and son lost their lives. According to the Mercer County Coroner’s Office, 92-year-old David E. Frew of West Salem Township was found dead from a gunshot wound, which was ruled as homicide. His son, 51-year-old David C. Frew from Sharpsville, was discovered nearby with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to UPMC Horizon Greenville, where he later died, and his death was ruled a suicide. The incident is being investigated by Mercer state police, with no further details available.
