The Mayfest Community Association donated $9,500 to the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and Quick Response Service (QRS), with $6,000 presented during a family movie night. The funds were raised from the 2024 Mayfest 5K, held in memory of longtime firefighter and chief Jake Hoffman. Each year, the association donates to a local nonprofit, and this year, they chose the QRS to honor Hoffman’s dedication and support the department’s need for a new garage, vehicle, and training for its first responders.
