A man from Reno and a Warren woman are facing charges after being accused of stealing almost $10,000 of items from a residence in Sugarcreek Borough.
Michelle Carr, 47, and Drake Shoemaker, 22, took “a bunch of items,” with a total value of approximately $9,923.99, from a residence on Second Avenue at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sugarcreek police said in a criminal complaint.
The person who owns the items gave police a list of what had been stolen and provided police with text messages from Carr and Shoemaker admitting to taking the items, the complaint said.
Shoemaker has been charged with a felony count of theft by unlawful taking moveable property and a felony count of conspiracy- theft by unlawful taking movable property.
Carr was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Matthew Kirtland and placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail.
Her preliminary arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday before Kirtland.
Shoemaker’s arraignment has yet to be scheduled.
