Man held for court on burglary charges in OC incident

A Franklin man was held for court Wednesday in Venango County Central Court for his role in a burglary and shooting incident last month on Cornplanter Avenue in Oil City.

Donn Fitzgerald, 19, is accused of breaking into the home April 25 with another man, Adrian Wise, 18, of Oil City.

Fitzgerald was held for court on felony counts of burglary- overnight accommodations person present, criminal conspiracy engaging- burglary- overnight accommodations person present bodily injury crime and criminal trespass- break into structure.

Wise is accused of shooting a man at the residence and faces several charges, including criminal homicide and criminal attempt-murder of the first degree.

The man Wise is accused of shooting was transported to UPMC Hamot in Erie with non-life-threatening injuries and was released later the same day, according to Oil City police Chief Dave Ragon.

Wise’s preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Central Court.

Fitzgerald and Wise remain lodged in the Venango County jail.
