ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A coroner says a young couple found dead in a Erie, PA home died of stab wounds inflicted in a murder-suicide.
Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook says Thursday that authorities aren’t releasing other details, including the victims’ names, while investigators sort through the aftermath of the killings.
Cook says the 28-year-old man killed the 23-year-old woman before taking his own life.
Erie police were called to the residence shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday after the dead man’s father found the bodies in a bedroom of his home.
The woman was stabbed repeatedly and the man died from a single wound. Both bled to death.
Police have recovered the weapon, which Cook wouldn’t describe.
Police Chief Randy Bowers say investigators couldn’t immediately find a motive.
