An Edinboro man is facing multiple charges for sexually assaulting a young girl in January in Cherrytree Township.
Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint that on Jan. 29, Ethan Shaw, 23, came to the house of a girl who was between 12 and 15 years old. The girl had a female friend over who was 13, the complaint said.
Shaw picked the girls up without the knowledge of the parents of one of the girls, the complaint said.
At one point the girl in the front seat engaged in oral sex with Shaw while the 13-year-old girl in the backseat recorded a video of the sexual encounter, the complaint said. Shaw then dropped the girls off at the Dollar General in Titusville, according to the complaint.
Shaw came back later and took one girl for a drive again, and the 13-year-old girl said she didn’t go the second time because she wasn’t comfortable about it, the complaint said. Shaw drove the other girl to Oil City where she talked to two of her friends before Shaw drove back toward her home, according to the complaint.
The girl said she noticed a lot of money and drugs in the vehicle, the complaint said.
Shaw drove to a wooded area on Dutch Hill Road and sexually assaulted the girl, the complaint said. Shaw then apologized to the girl and gave her money, drugs and vapes before dropping her off at Dollar General in Titusville, according to the complaint.
Shaw has been charged with felony counts of rape forcible compulsion, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse forcible compulsion, statutory sexual assault – 8-11 years older, aggravated indecent assault- forcible compulsion, aggravated indecent assault without consent, photograph/film/depict on computer sex act- knowingly or permitting child, criminal use of a communication facility, manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, interference with custody of children, corruption of minors- defendant 18 or above, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse person less than 16 and aggravated indecent assault- complainant less than 16.
He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent assault forcible compulsion and indecent assault of a person less than 16 and a summary count of sale of tobacco.
Shaw was arraigned Sunday and placed in the Venango County jail with bail denied. His preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Central Court.
