From staff reports

A Hermitage man is facing charges after he was found in possession of about one and a half pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop this month in Barkeyville.

A criminal complaint filed by the state police drug law enforcement division said Nicholas Cannone, 24, was pulled over Sept. 8 at the intersection of Route 8 and Interstate 80 for having illegally tinted windows in his vehicle.

Police found one and a half pounds of marijuana in two vacuum sealed bags as well as a bag of “Exotics” brand marijuana for personal use, the complaint said.

The vacuum sealed marijuana was worth about $6,750 wholesale and between $3,500 and $9,500 sold by the ounce, according to the complaint.

Cannone was charged with a felony count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana- small amount personal use, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal retention of medical marijuana, unlawful certification by practitioner, and additional violation of medical marijuana act and two summary vehicle violations.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 5 in Venango County Central Court.
