An Erie County man is facing drug and assault charges in connection with an incident early Tuesday morning in Pleasantville.
Franklin state police said in a criminal complaint they were called to a residence on South Main Street in Pleasantville at about 1:15 a.m. after Venango County 911 heard something about a gun in the background of a 911 hang-up call.
A woman told police that Christopher Nielsen, 46, had been “acting paranoid all day long” and was “easily agitated,” the complaint said.
Nielsen then ran out of the bedroom with the gun and called 911 to say he took the gun from the woman because she was going to shoot herself, the complaint said.
When the woman told him to leave, he refused, only leaving the house to get his bags after the woman threw them out on the front porch, and she then locked him out, the complaint said.
They also found a digital scale, two prescription bottles belonging to Nielsen and documents from the Court of Common Pleas of Erie County with Nielsen named as a defendant, the complaint said.
Police found Nielsen riding in a car that pulled into the driveway of a friend’s house, and they arrested him, the complaint said.
Nielsen is facing three felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, endangering the welfare of children and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned Tuesday and placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled Feb. 8 in Central Court.
