An Oil City man, Robert Beggs, 67, is facing charges after allegedly assaulting three nurses at the UPMC Northwest emergency room. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday when Beggs, who wanted to leave the ER, became aggressive after being told he couldn’t leave with an IV in his arm. He reportedly lunged at a nurse, struck his wife and other staff members, and later shoved another nurse into a metal stand when they tried to reconnect him to a cardiac monitor. Beggs was eventually restrained and is now charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, and disorderly conduct.
