A 61-year-old Pittsburgh man, John Vorous, is facing multiple charges after a high-speed chase with police in Emlenton. Vorous initially stopped for a state trooper but then sped off, ultimately crashing his vehicle. When confronted, he resisted arrest, repeatedly telling the trooper to shoot him. Despite being intoxicated, unarmed, and uncooperative, the trooper was able to handcuff Vorous, who now faces charges including DUI, fleeing police, resisting arrest, and drug possession. Vorous is currently in jail without bail as a flight risk, with a preliminary hearing set for September 11.
