Man airlifted after tree accident

This STAT MedEvac helicopter landed Friday morning in the parking lot of the Oil City municipal swimming pool in Hasson Heights to airlift a man on whom a tree had fallen. Venango County 911 reported the call at about 10:40 a.m., and Oil City Fire Chief Tim Alex later confirmed that emergency personnel responded to Crestview Drive for a person on whom a tree had fallen. Oil City Fire Capt. Eric McFadden said the man received treatment at the scene and was then flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie. Other emergency agencies that responded to the incident included Oil City police, Venango County Emergency Management Agency and Community Ambulance Service, who transported the man from Crestview to the helicopter landing site. A Pennsylvania Urban Search and Rescue truck was also parked at the scene on Crestview. No further information about the man’s injuries or the accident was available as of about 4 p.m. Friday.
