A Rouseville man is facing charges for threatening another man and his daughter during an argument about hunting.
Franklin state police said a man told them his daughter had engaged in a verbal argument Dec. 7 with Edward Caldwell, 52, about her hunting on private property without the required amount of orange on, the complaint said.
The man said he went to Caldwell’s residence to explain to him they have permission to hunt on the property and that they had been wearing orange but took it off when they got near their vehicle, the complaint said.
During the argument, Caldwell was on the phone with a Game Commission warden reporting the pair for unsafe hunting, according to the complaint.
Caldwell then went to his vehicle and grabbed a rifle and carried it around while the argument continued and then told the man he would “blow his (expletive) head off,” according to the complaint.
The man and his daughter got into their vehicle out of fear of what Caldwell might do and drove away, the complaint said. The man looked back as his daughter was driving away and he saw Caldwell pointing his gun at the vehicle yelling that he was going to shoot them all, the complaint said.
Caldwell is facing two misdemeanor counts each of terroristic threats, harassment and simple assault.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled Jan. 11 in Venango County Central Court.
