Man accused of assaulting trooper held for court

A Titusville man, Kenneth Amon, 60, was held for court in Venango County after being accused of assaulting a state police trooper. The incident occurred on August 14 when Amon, after contacting 911 for a wrist injury, became uncooperative while being transported to UPMC Northwest. During the ambulance ride, Amon attempted to unbuckle himself and, when the trooper tried to intervene, Amon struck the officer with his bloody wrist. Amon faces a felony charge of assaulting a law enforcement officer, along with misdemeanor charges of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
