As the year draws to a close, I’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time to stop in at Divani in Foxburg for a coffee chat or to let me know that this column is being read. Over the past year, as I have stepped into this new role as a writer, I’ve had the chance to meet new people, learn more about redevelopment, and explore the world around me in a different way.
During the last eleven months, we’ve looked at real-life examples of redevelopment from here in the Oil Region and projects in neighboring states and around the country, seeing how so many organizations are working together to make the world a better place. We’ve learned about different redevelopment concepts and how those concepts can be applied in rural areas. And we’ve seen the diverse needs and challenges faced in redevelopment.
Looking into the next year, I’m excited to keep following the progress of our local projects like River Roots Community Farm and the brownfield projects all around the region. And I’m sure there will be many opportunities to learn more about redevelopment as well as innovations and how they might (or might not) work in rural America.
I wish you all a joyous and Merry Christmas, filled with warmth and love. As we bid farewell to another year, may the New Year be adorned with endless possibilities and abundant blessings. May your hearts be light and your spirits bright, and may the season bring you moments of peace and reflection.
