Local churches start toy drive for children in hurricane-ravaged NC

Four local churches in Venango County—East Grove, Center Community, Seneca Sonrise, and Galloway Global Methodist—are hosting a toy drive to support families in North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helen in September. The churches are collecting new toys for children aged 3 to 18 and sturdy plastic totes for packing, with donations accepted at East Grove and Galloway churches on designated dates through December 3. Cash donations are also welcomed. The collected toys will be delivered to Black Mountain, NC, where local organizers will distribute them to children in need. This marks the third relief effort by these churches, following two previous drives that sent U-Haul trucks full of supplies to the hurricane-affected area. Organizers aim to fill another truck to bring joy to families this Christmas.
