From staff reports
Letter carriers in the region will participate Saturday in the nation’s largest single-day food drive, Stamp Out Hunger.
Anyone who wants to contribute to the effort can do so by leaving a sturdy bag containing nonperishable food items (canned soup, vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal) next to their mailbox early Saturday morning, according to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania.
Food items should be in an unbreakable container such as boxes and cans.
