Leaf pick-ups set for OC, Franklin

Leaf pickups will continue next week in Franklin, starting Monday.

Here is the schedule, which could change due to weather.

Monday: Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights. Also, bagged leaf pick-up throughout the city.

Tuesday: Odd side of Elk and Buffalo from 11th to 15th and 11th. Even side of Otter from 11th to 15th and Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Wednesday: Even side of Elk and Buffalo, 11th to 15th and 11th. Odd side of Otter, 11th to 15th, Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Thursday: Even side of Franklin Avenue, Eagle and 14th. Odd side of Chestnut to 11th to 15th, 12th, South Park and Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights.

Friday: Odd side of Franklin Avenue, Eagle and 14th. Even side of Chestnut, 11th to 15th, 12th, and Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights. Also, bagged leaf pick-up throughout the city.

Residents are asked to rake their leaves to the edge of their front lawns, not on the street, for pickup by the city crews.

Mechanical breakdowns or inclement weather may cause delays or rescheduling.

The city will also pick up paper biodegradable bags of leaves (no plastic bags) Monday and Friday.

Anyone with questions can call the city garage from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at (814) 437-1600.

Residents are reminded to observe the temporary No Parking signs to keep from getting ticketed.

Oil City

The leaf pick-up schedule for Oil City next week is for Oliver Manor, Rayland Park and Lynch Boulevard.

All cars must be off the posted streets by 7:30 a.m. Cars that are not moved will be ticketed and possibly towed.

Leaves should be raked or blown to the curb and not into the street.
